Blessed and Victorious 2022

Updated: Jan 17, 2022

Sermon on 2 January 2022 by Ps Justin

Introduction

Enter into 2022 with thanksgiving and praise. Fix your eyes upon Jesus Christ. Depend on Him. Do not walk by sight but by faith. If you are not in faith, you are in flesh. Faith and flesh are opposing themes. If you are in the flesh, your life is in darkness. But if you live by faith, you will walk in the Spirit. The Holy Spirit will work mightily in us. You will have peace and joy. When we walk by faith, out of our hearts will flow rivers of living water.

Message

We want to be in complete alignment with God. It all begins with our hearts. Begin 2022 with your heart. What is right according to the word? How do we align to the word? Follow the word. Be obedient. When faced with a problem, seek Him first (Matthew 6:33).

Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you. – 1 Samuel 12:24

Be Christ-like in all you do, and surrender all to Him.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. – Matthew 5:8

What is a pure heart? It is a sincere heart. An honest heart. The world will tell you to follow your heart. But we know that our hearts are deceitful above all things. The bible tells us to guard our hearts. You may be good at hiding, but God knows what is in your heart. You need to confess your sins (1 John 1:9). He will forgive you, and He will cleanse you.

Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. – Proverbs 4:23

Check your heart. If you want to live a victorious life, check your heart. Our hearts can easily get “out of alignment”. Don’t focus on the circumstances, focus on Him. Have you given your heart to the Lord?

2022 will be a year of complete alignment with the heart of the Father. You must have the heart to follow what is hard to follow.

1. Have a committed heart.

2. Have a humble heart. A humble heart is also an obedient heart.

3. A hungry heart.

4. Have a thanksgiving heart.

5. A trusting heart. The peace of God will surpass all.

6. A repentant heart. Turn away from your sin.

7. A yielded heart and a big “E.G.O” (“Exalt God Only”) heart. Yield to the Holy Spirit. This is to live by faith.

And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’ – Acts 13:22

Closing

Pray for purging from our hearts all that is not pleasing to God. Only with a committed heart, a humble heart, a hungry heart, a thanksgiving heart, a repentant heart, and a yielded heart, will we be able to only fear the Lord and serve Him with all our hearts.

Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you. – 1 Samuel 12:24
