The Grace of God is With Us (Exodus 3:12; 4:12)

Sermon on 21 May 2023 by Pastor Justin

Introduction

The word grace means unmerited favour. We did not earn it. God gives it to us freely. If you want the grace of God, you must abide in His love. His Grace is the voice that calls us to be transformed and changed. His grace is always sufficient for us. His grace grants us peace.

Message

The grace of God is with us. God is with us wherever we go. He will not leave us nor forsake us.

So He said, “I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.” – Exodus 3:12

Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.” – Exodus 4:12

God’s grace and presence are always with us to strengthen and refine our faith. His mercies are new every day, even when we are faithless. When God is with you, His favour is with you. 2 Timothy 2:1 tells us to be strong in the grace that is in Jesus Christ.

You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. – 2 Timothy 2:1

For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime;weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. – Psalm 30:5

His grace is with us, even when we have the “what if?”.

Never ask questions originating from doubt. If you need wisdom, you ask for wisdom. But ask for it in faith. If you have doubt, you are double-minded; you are being tossed by the wind.

“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her. – Luke 1:38

God’s grace if with us, even when we don’t believe.

Moses was worried that the people would not believe him. God showed Moses a series of miracles (Exodus 4:2,6,9) to bring him to a position of faith. God will demonstrate His power and reveal His faithfulness even when you don’t believe. God is not only with you, but He is gracious enough to reveal His faithfulness by the Holy Spirit. God has been working miracles in your life that no one knows about, to strengthen your faith.

God’s grace is with us, even when we don’t know what to say.

God will show His grace by providing the words. In Acts 4:1-13, the apostles Peter and John were questioned by the priests as to by what power they were preaching. They were uneducated but were filled by the Holy Spirit and were able to speak eloquently. What God says, will happen. His timing is perfect (Luke 12:12; Exodus 4:12).

for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.” – Luke 12:12

Closing

Moses had questions, “what-if’s”, but God was with him. Moses had the grace of God in leading the people to cross the Red Sea. Only by the grace of God can we do the things seemingly impossible. The law came through Moses, but grace and truth came from our Jesus Christ. Under the law, a sheep died for its shepherd. Under grace, a shepherd died for his sheep.

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. – 1 Corinthians 15:10

The grace of God is with us and will sustain us.

The grace of God is with you and will keep you. – John 1:17
