Oneness (John 17:20-26)

Sermon on 7 January 2024 by Pastor Justin

Despite our differences, we can bridge gaps and transcend barriers by uniting through Jesus Christ. Let us behold His glory as one.

Our spiritual process comprises fellowship, worship and discipleship. We cannot be a lone Christian. Through fellowship and bonding, we stir one another up. Through worship, we can have a spiritual experience. Worship is a lifestyle - it is everyday. It is not about singing songs; it is about holiness - how you surrender your heart. Through discipleship, we learn to be more Christ-like.

Jesus prayed for us to be one. Our unity as a church will replicate the love of Christ and bring unbelievers to Jesus Christ.

I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as we are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me. And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” - John 17:20-26

Our loving relationship with each other is the greatest witness to Jesus Christ. We will bear the fruit of unity and demonstrate oneness in the love for God and for one another.

Let us stay uncorrupted in our love and hope, so that our faith stays unwavering.

Let us stay undiluted. In Him, we are complete.

Let us stay undisrupted with the vast information out there. The bible says do not be deceived by the rules of the world which are not in accordance with Christ.

Let us behold His glory as one - uncorrupted, undiluted and undisrupted. Jesus prayed for us to bear the fruit of unity; let us have a divine encounter and embrace the blessings of God.
